Maldives' environmental concerns

There are a number of environmental issues that Maldives is facing. Among are beach erosion, coral mining, dredging, solid waste disposal, land reclamation, and population growth. For instance, there have been far too many reported cases of soil erosion on its 57 islands due to climate change and mining. Coral mining also poses threat on the country as miners tend to exploit it for the construction industry. Moreover, solid wastes such as cars and tin cans create a danger on the countryfs environment as improper dumping contaminates their groundwater resources.
